Know - Learn - Grow
Hi, I’m a people focused aspiring author who is curious to understand how things work, what people think and am passionate about making sure people are considered as the highest priority in organisational changes.
If your organisation is making changes whether they are many little changes or one large change, my know-learn-grow approach to changes and communications can help. I have developed this approach after many years working on complex IT and organisational changes for large, medium or small corporations, government departments and not for profits.
So about me! I completed my bachelor of business in 2003 where I was most inspired in my human resource development subjects as part of my human resource management and international business majors. I then lived overseas and traveled the world for a few years and so it wasn’t until 2007 when I worked on my first change project as part of a support role that I had at the time.
Supporting and guiding people through this change really helped me see that this is where I wanted to pursue my career. I have since worked on both waterfall and agile organisation wide IT system transformations, digital transformations, organisational behavioural changes and multiple global IT system implementations in change, learning and communication roles. I am passionate about developing people, which is why I completed my masters in adult education in a global context in 2016. I believe that everybody comes to work with the intention of doing a good job and that my role as a change manager is to support them to achieve this intention.
I take a customer or employee journey approach to change analysis and implementation and through my career have developed my own know-learn-grow approach to implementing changes large and small. It focuses on making sure people have the knowledge that they need to support them through a change. An opportunity to learn this knowledge and apply it before the change happens. And clear evaluation measures for success, to make sure people are growing their capabilities and skills to best support them to implement changes. My approach is to not just provide my expertise but to coach others in the organisation to build their own change capabilities as part of any change.
My unique approach has intrigued others in various organisations in which I have worked. So I am now an aspiring author who is writing a book on my know-learn-grow approach to share my ideas with a wider audience.
